Engility Holdings is one of seven awardees competing for task orders to perform research and development work under a potential 10-year, $4 billion contract awarded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
The company will work to help DTRA detect nuclear weapons, deliver nuclear sensor platforms, perform technical nuclear forensics and to develop both verification and treaty technologies, , Engility said Tuesday.
“This win expands on work we are currently doing for DTRA under the Weapons of Mass Destruction Defeat Technology indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and we are pleased and honored by this new opportunity,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, president and CEO at Engility.
DTRA also could award task orders that cover support for systems engineering and survivability as well as medical and physical countermeasures against weapons of mass destruction.
