IT Jobhunting Website for Veterans Goes Live

NVTC logoThe new website developed by the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Consumer Electronics Association and Monster Worldwide to help veterans find work in the information technology sector is now live.

USTechVets.org is designed with a skills translator to help users match their backgrounds with available jobs and built to contain a database of more than 800,000 resumes for employers to search through, the NVTC announced Wednesday.

“Veterans bring valuable skills and experience to the job, such as leadership, team-building, motivation, a strong work ethic, and quick-thinking as well as experience working in a mission-focused environment,” said Gary Shapiro, CEA president and CEO.

“These qualities are highly-prized in the technology sector. We understand that a workforce with these outstanding merits can be an incredible competitive advantage in the marketplace,” he added.

Other associations that have supported the project include the Telecommunications Industry Association, Custom Electronic Design and Installation, Wireless Infrastructure Association, Central Station Alarm Association, National Association of Broadcasters, Security Industry Association and the Professional Services Council.
