Northrop Awards Multiple STEM Grants in Salt Lake City; Jim Lupica Comments

northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman has awarded grants, worth nearly $7,000, for two science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs in Salt Lake City, UT.

One grant is meant for the development and promotion of two educational programs for young people and the other to provide job training for adults ages 18 to 30, Northrop Grumman announced Wednesday.

“Northrop Grumman recognizes the importance of STEM education and job opportunities for the future growth and prosperity of not only our company but also the nation as a whole,” said Jim Lupica, director of manufacturing and the lead campus executive for Northrop Grumman’s Salt Lake City facility.

“We are proud to continually support creative, engaging programs that benefit the community in which we work and live,” he added.

The winners of the grants include Prototype X, a competing team at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Robotics Competition, the Neil Armstrong Academy and the Columbus Foundation.
