Boeing to Exhibit All-Electric Propulsion Satellite, Phantom Works Prototype; Craig Cooning Comments

BoeingLogoBoeing is showing a model of the company’s all-electric propulsion 702SP satellite Monday through Thursday at the Satellite 2014 Conference & Exhibition in Washington

The company’s booth 6009 will also feature the 502 Phoenix, a commercial version of Phantom Works’ Phantom Phoenix prototype introduced last year, the company announced Friday.

Craig Cooning, vice president and general manager of Boeing’s space and intelligence systems, said the company is working to address needs in the large geosynchronous spacecraft and nanosatellite markets.

“With three new satellite designs – 702MP, 702SP and 502 Phoenix – introduced in four years, Boeing continues to evolve our product offerings to meet both our government and commercial customers’ needs,” Cooning added.

Additionally, the company said it will sponsor the Satellite Executive of the Year luncheon Wednesday.

Panel discussions on satellite manufacturing, defense space missions and payload innovation will include executives such as:

  • Bruce Chesley, VP of business development for space and intelligence systems
  • Steve Sichi, design center director for Boeing Satellite Systems International
  • Jim Simpson, president of Boeing Satellite Systems International
