Executive Profile: David Young, Level 3’s VP of Sales for Civilian, Defense and Intelligence Agencies

Level-3-communicationsDavid Young serves as vice president of sales within Level 3 Communications‘ federal market group, where he leads the firm’s sales to defense, civilian, and intelligence agencies.

This includes sales of solutions in data services, content delivery, voice, transport and professional services.

The more-than-25-year federal telecommunications veteran joined Level 3 in 2002 and held a senior director position prior to elevating to his current role in 2010.

Over that time, Young helped lead company efforts with satellite providers, system integrators and others in markets including defense and intelligence.

Young earlier worked for AT&T Federal Systems, Lucent Technologies and Avaya in areas including sales engineering, capture management, sales and program management.

Young holds undegraduate degrees from West Virginia Wesleyan University in economics and marketing.
