Steven Rust, a Battelle senior research leader, has been selected to receive the nonprofit research and development organization’s annual Inventor of the Year Award.
Rust was chosen for the honor for leading a team that developed a health care analytics tool for big data sets in order to ensure safety of medicines, the company announced Tuesday.
He has also been appointed serve as the chief technology officer of The Healthcare Colloquium, a subsidiary of Battelle.
Tony Joseph founded the subsidiary prior to its acquisition by Battelle.
The healthcare Colloquium is a hospital membership organization that helps members integrate predictive analytics into the daily operations of a hospital system.
Prior to this appointment, Rust served as senior research leader of the Battelle Clinical Predictive Analytics intellectual property portfolio, the nonprofit’s department that inspired the acquisition of The Healthcare Colloquium.
