ATK is showcasing its various science, technology, engineering and math offerings at the 3rd USA Science & Engineering Festival from April 25-27 in Washington DC.

ATK scientists and engineers will attend the event to feature five displays related to space exploration and science, the company announced Monday.

Specifically, these displays will allow participants to simulate rocket launches, receive an overview of infrared sensing technologies, learn about thermal expansion changes and the manufacturing of ATK’s sporting ammunitions and a see demonstration of laser rangefinders.

“ATK’s mission is to deliver affordable innovation to our customers, but we also have a responsibility to help inspire the next generation of innovators and explorers,” said Mark DeYoung, ATK president and CEO.

“This Festival is a great opportunity for students to interact with ATK’s scientists and engineers and learn about the many real-world applications of STEM,” he added.

ATK employee and retired NASA astronaut Brian Duffy will also speak about his adventures in space during two discussions on April 26 and April 27. During his NASA career, he flew four Space Shuttle missions and spent over 40 days in space.
