Lockheed F-35 Internship Program Hits 10-Year Milestone; Steve O’Bryan Comments

Lockheed-Martin-BlueLockheed Martin has completed the 10th year of its F-35 internship program and technology partnership with Technical University Delft and Fokker.

Steve O’Bryan, Lockheed vice president of F-35 program integration and business development, said Thursday the company has been working with TU Delft and Fokker to develop programs to help educate the future technology workforce.

“Success for our science, technology and math students today, depends on collaboration among industry, educators, policy makers and families,” O’Bryan added.

The Delft University internship program works to provide engineering and science students a five-month hands-on training on how to operate the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.

Netherlands-based Fokker facilitates that program at Lockheed’s Fort Worth, Texas-based facility.
