Mac B logoLt. Gen. Rhett Hernandez, who led the Army Cyber Command before his retirement, has been appointed to the MacAulay-Brown board of advisors to provide insights on cybersecurity and boost the company’s capabilities in the market.

Hernandez, who retired from the Army in November 2013 after 39 years of service, will join other former military and government agency officials on the board, MacB said Monday.

“His service to the country, his background and expertise in the Cyber community will be invaluable to our customers, employees and the senior management team,” said Sid Fuchs, MacB’s president and CEO.

As ARCYBER commander, Hernandez managed a 17,000-man cyber-force and the Army’s information operations unit.

He also previously served as deputy chief of staff for Army Operations, chief of the U.S. Military Training Mission in Saudi Arabia and commanding general of the Human Resources Command.

“I look forward to providing my insights and expertise to increase U.S. Cyber-readiness,” Hernandez said.
