The award recognizes government contractors that have maintained high standards for overseeing the nation’s classified assets in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program, Bechtel said Monday.
The Reston, Virginia office of Bechtel’s U.S. government services company –Bechtel National — was selected out of only 40 recipients of this year’s award.
“Protecting national security information and assets is an essential part of our mission-critical work for our government customers, and this honor is a testament to our teams who carry out the work with the greatest care,” said Craig Albert, president of Bechtel’s government services global business unit.
Bechtel, a defense contractor for the U.S. government for more than 50 years, is responsible for chemical weapons disassembly and destruction projects in Pueblo, Colorado and Richmond, Kentucky; missile defense infrastructure and operations at the Reagan Ballistic Missile Test Site in the Marshall Islands; and nuclear nonproliferation projects around the world.
