Lockheed Wins 7 Cogswell Security Achievement Awards; Bob Trono Comments

Lockheed-Martin-BlueOut of the 13,000 defense contractors nominated for the 2014 James S. Cogswell award for Outstanding Industrial Security, Lockheed Martin is the first company to be recognized with seven Cogswell awards, presented June 17 at the 50th annual National Classification Management Society seminar in National Harbor, Maryland.

The Defense Security Service nominated Lockheed based on criteria such as their implementation of a security program that goes above and beyond minimum National Industrial Security Program requirements as well as their demonstration of leadership to set high security standards, said Lockheed.

Bob Trono, Lockheed Martin’s Chief Security Officer is pleased with the recognition.

“To have seven of our facilities recognized with this honor for the first-time in the history of the Cogswell Award is a milestone,” said Trono. “It is a reflection on our corporation’s relentless focus on the security which supports our military, intelligence and other government customers on a daily basis.”

Lockheed Martin’s facilities to receive the Cogswell award vary in function; from their corporate site to Information Systems and Global Solutions, and from Missile and Fire Control to Mission Systems and Training.
