Adaptive Biotechnologies has appointed Sean Nolan, a 13-year veteran at Microsoft, to fill the role of chief technology officer and serve on the company’s executive leadership Team.
Nolan will oversee Adaptive’s software development and architecture, IT and automation work after previously serving as general manager and distinguished engineer for Microsoft’s HealthVault line and health solutions group.
“There are very few people in the world, especially within healthcare, that have managed the scale of data that Sean has,” said Chad Robins, president and CEO at Adaptive Biotechnologies.
“Hiring Sean as part of Adaptive’s management team stresses the importance we are putting on data as a key driver to the success of our business.”
Adaptive Biotechnologies cited its work in sequencing to manage the adaptive immune system as key to its portfolio.
“My career has been all about using computation and information technology to solve real problems, and it’s hard to imagine more meaningful problems than the ones Adaptive is attacking,” said Nolan.
