Maurice B. Tose, CEO, president and board chairman of TeleCommunication Systems, is set to serve a fourth term on the CTIA-The Wireless Association board following reelection last week.

The company said Sept. 10 the executive starts his new appointment in January 2015.

“I am excited and honored to again serve as an involved member of the CTIA board, and look forward to participating as a strong advocate and voice of the Other Supplier service providers and manufacturers,” Tose said.

TCS indicated that the non-profit body is involved in advocacies pertaining to consumer privacy guidelines, cyber security policies and legislation to improve public emergency communications services.

The members, which include manufacturers, carriers, data services providers and suppliers, are currently laying the groundwork for the wireless Next Generation 9-1-1 initiative, with support services for the hearing and speech impaired.

Meredith Atwell Baker, president and CEO of the CTIA-The Wireless Association, indicated that the new board will help the non-profit pursue its goal to further a mobile ecosystem.

“By working with leaders like Maurice, [the 2015 board of directors] will be important advocates with the expertise needed to guide the industry toward identifying and working with the federal government, policymakers and other interested stakeholders to find more spectrum so Americans can continue to enjoy the best mobile products and services,” Baker said.
