A nonprofit organization started by SAP NS2 has opened 20 slots to post-9/11 military veterans for a three-month technology training and employment program that will provide participants with mentorship and potential job opportunities.
NS2 Serves said Monday the residential, full-time course will offer training on SAP software and career placement assistance in national security and other fields, provide monetary allowances to trainees and certify graduates as SAP associates.
“This program helps solve two problems at once – tackling the alarming high unemployment rate among our post 9/11 veterans, with hundreds more transitioning home weekly, and the need for highly qualified professionals in national security who can navigate, analyze and share data,” said Mark Testoni, SAP NS2 president and CEO.
CBS News reported that the “software bootcamp” aims to help veterans who face difficulties in finding post-service employment develop skills in data management software and meet the qualifications for high-demand jobs.
Testoni added that NS2 Serves established the program as a way to give back to veterans for their military service.
The organization will accept applications from veterans or Gold Star spouses through Feb. 10 for the upcoming third class, which will be held in Maryland beginning March 2.
