Martha Shepard serves as vice president of contracts at BAE Systems Inc. — the British defense contractor’s U.S. subsidiary — with responsibility in policy formulation and professional development functions for BAE’s U.S. and foreign-based entities.
She also works to monitor acquisition-related regulatory activity and represent the U.S. subsidiary’s contracts on the commercial council for parent company BAE Systems Plc as well as to other trade organizations.
Shepard previously served as VP of contracts for the subsidiary’s U.S. combat systems business unit and later for the integrated operations after she held roles in government contracts at BAE’s Nashua, New Hampshire-based electronic services sector.
Prior to BAE, she helped Lockheed Martin-acquired Sanders Associates to manage aircraft maintenance and modification contracts with commercial and foreign government customers.
Shepard returned to New Hampshire as contracting lead for the due diligence and integration of newly acquired companies and later as director of domestic and international contracts after BAE bought Sanders.
She also served as the director of contract operations within BAE’s former E&IS operating group.
Shepard earned her bachelor’s degree in public administration from Wheeling Jesuit University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Franklin Pierce Law Center.
