Frank Sheppard to Manage Parsons-DOE Project; Mary Ann Hopkins Comments

Parsons2Frank Sheppard Jr., a Parsons vice president and former deputy project manager for the Energy Department‘s salt waste processing facility, will take over as SWPF project manager effective immediately.

The company said Monday Sheppard will succeed the retiring Louis Jackson and oversee the facility’s operations in Aiken, South Carolina.

“Frank is a key member of the SWPF management team with intimate knowledge of the contract and a strong customer relationship,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2015.

Sheppard joined Parsons in 2011 to work on the SWPF project, in which the company serves as prime contractor and manages the facility’s ongoing construction.

He was in charge of the project’s contract actions as well as cost and schedule performance in his previous roles as contracts manager and business manager.

He previously worked with DOE in the environmental management and acquisition management offices and with the U.S. Navy as a civilian engineer.
