The Greater Virginia Green Building Council has selected RMF Engineering to receive a “Best Commercial Project” award in recognition of the company’s work to update the heating, air conditioning and other utility systems at the former Martha Jefferson Hospital site in Charlottesville for the CFA Institute.
RMF also refreshed the fire protection, plumbing and electrical systems at the CFA Institute’s worldwide headquarters in Charlottesville and obtained an LEED gold certification for work on the project, the company said Friday.
CFA aims to reduce its water consumption by 70 percent and use 22 percent less energy than similar-type headquarters sites.
The institute tasked RMF to maintain the site’s 1920s-era Patterson wing and other historic elements.
