AT&T Appoints Richard Fisher as Board Member; Randall Stephenson Comments

at&t logoRichard Fisher, formerly president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, has joined AT&T as a member of the corporate development and finance committee of its board of directors.

“His extensive financial, trade and regulatory expertise, along with his deep understanding of Mexico and Latin America, make him an invaluable addition to [the board],” Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman and CEO, said in a statement released Friday.

Fisher worked on the execution of the North American Free Trade Agreement as deputy U.S. trade representative during the term of then President Bill Clinton.

He also oversaw U.S. trade agreements with Chile, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Vietnam as well as negotiated the entry of China and Taiwan into the World Trade Organization.

He is previously vice chairman of the advisory firm Kissinger McLarty Associates and founded Fisher Capital Management and Fisher Ewing Partners.

Fisher also currently serves on the PepsiCo board of directors and Harvard University board of overseers.
