Northrop Grumman has received the Maryland Department of the Environment’s Green Registry Leadership award in recognition of its sustainable practices and environmental work.
Employees of Northrop’s electronic systems sector accepted the award from Mary Beth Tung, deputy secretary of Maryland’s state department; and Ben Wu, deputy secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, Northrop said Wednesday.
“From sustainability and waste reduction to energy conservation and recycling, Northrop Grumman is committed to the protection and preservation of the environment in each of the communities where we maintain a business presence, including here in Maryland,” said Jay Tolle, director of environmental, health, safety and fire protection at Northrop’s electronic systems sector.
The Maryland Green Registry is a free program designed to provide organizations advice and resources to craft and meet their sustainable goals.
