Fortinet’s Michael Xie to Discuss CSO Role at Cybersecurity Thought Leadership Forum

CyberStockMichael Xie, Fortinet founder, president and chief technology officer, is set to speak at a cybersecurity thought leadership forum sponsored by Team8, an Israel-based cybersecurity foundry.

Xie will discuss the significance of a chief security officer’s role in an organization’s effort to bolster security, Fortinet said Monday.

“One of the biggest trends we see is a greater focus on internal segmentation,” said Xie.

“There’s always been a focus on protecting the perimeter, but the explosion of the Internet of Things has created new network attack vectors that organizations are simply not prepared to defend against,” he added.

Part of a Nasdaq-hosted series of events in October, the cybersecurity forum is intended to tackle cybersecurity challenges and opportunities that face organizations.
