John Chambers, executive chairman and former CEO of Cisco, has joined the board of directors of OpenGov and invested in the latter company’s cloud-based financial intelligence and planning services.
OpenGov said Thursday the company seeks to draw on Chambers’ experience in work with local and county governments, special and school districts as well as state and federal public sector agencies.
“We are delighted to welcome John and inspired by a shared vision and the challenge of overhauling present systems for a better future,” said Zac Bookman, co-founder and CEO of OpenGov.
OpenGov provides web-based services to help customers gain insights into government financial and performance data to support decision-making and budgeting and planning processes.
