Boeing’s Matthew Jones, Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Susan Nelson Join CompTIA Space Enterprise Council

CompTIA LogoCompTIA has appointed Matthew Jones, director of C4ISR and advanced technology and government operations at Boeing, as chair of the technology industry association’s space enterprise council.

Susan Nelson, director of government affairs and Washington operations at Aerojet Rocketdyne, will serve as vice chair of SEC, CompTIA said Thursday.

“Under Matt and Susan’s guidance, we expect the SEC to work closely with the stakeholder community to help support policies and programs that will accelerate American competitiveness in the global space marketplace,” said David Logsdon, senior director of public advocacy at CompTIA.

Jones oversees position, navigation and timing initiatives at Boeing and is also responsible for the aerospace company’s programs on satellites and space technology platforms with government clients such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Nelson, who coordinates civil space efforts with NASA and congressional clients as part of her responsibilities at Aerojet Rocketdyne, previously served as a government affairs specialist for NASA’s office of legislative and intergovernmental affairs and director of Washington operations at Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne.

Founded in 2000, CompTIA’s SEC works to facilitate networking opportunities and business relationships between member companies and policymakers as well as formulate and convey policies and budget positions to federal agencies and lawmakers.
