Leidos’ RPA Operations Center Receives AFA Recognition; Mike Hile Comments

The Air Force Association’s Martin H. Harris Chapter has recognized Leidos for its efforts to support armed unmanned aerial vehicle systems through a remotely piloted aircraft operations center.

Leidos said Tuesday the association also designated the company-operated RPA ROC as a Jimmy Doolittle Educational Fellow.

The company used the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s risk management framework to install and achieve a full operational capability status for the RPA operations hub at Cannon AF Base in New Mexico on behalf of the Air Force Special Operations Command.

The virtualized facility was built to comply with the service branch’s RPA requirements through the use of industry standard tools, command-and-control standards and government and commercial off-the-shelf equipment.

“Leidos has stood side-by-side with the 27th Special Operations Wing and Air Force Special Operations Command since conception of the design of the ROC, and we’re incredibly proud to be recognized for our dedication and commitment to excellence,” said Mike Hile, a vice president and division manager at Leidos.
