Patrick Biltgen, technical director of analytics at Vencore, will receive the inaugural Neil Armstrong Award of Excellence from the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation for his research work and efforts to expand science and technology-related exploration initiatives.

ASF will present the award to Biltgen during the foundation’s Innovators Gala to be held on Sept. 16 in Washington, D.C., Vencore said Wednesday.

“We congratulate Pat on this well-deserved award, and are proud that he is part of the Vencore family,” said Mac Curtis, Vencore president and CEO and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017.

Curtis added the recognition reflects Vencore’s efforts to employ “innovators” to help clients address problems.

Biltgen has adopted data analysis and integration methods to advance activity-based intelligence in support of humanitarian and military missions.

The two-time ASF scholar previously served as principal systems engineer at Vencore.

Prior to Vencore, Biltgen worked as a senior mission engineer at BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary and research engineer at Georgia Tech.
