He will join the company’s board of directors and succeed Stephen Luczo, who will transition into a new role as executive chairman of the board in October to oversee shareholder value creation efforts, Seagate said Tuesday.
“Dave’s tenure in the storage industry, deep expertise in multiple technologies and broad international experience will enhance Seagate’s competitive position and future opportunities,” said Mike Cannon, lead independent director and chairman of the nominating and corporate governance committee at Seagate.
Mosley oversees the company’s global operations, sales and marketing, information technology, logistics and procurement as well as research and development efforts as president and COO.
He is a 20-year Seagate veteran who has held senior leadership roles at the company such as executive vice president for global sales and marketing and president of operations and technology.
Luczo joined Seagate in 1993 as senior VP of corporate development and elevated to the role of board chairman in 2002 and CEO in 2009.
Prior to Seagate, he previously worked at investment banking firm Bear, Stearns & Co. as senior managing director of global technology group and served as a member of the board at Microsoft for two years.
