The Senior Executives Association has partnered with the Shared Services Leadership Coalition in an effort to educate senior government leaders on the implementation of the shared services business model in the public sector.
SEA and SSLC said in a joint statement published Monday they will host a seminar series for senior government officials on opportunities that could arise from shared services as well as best practices in implementation.
Shared services will work to optimize administrative services such as human resources, financial management, purchasing and information technology across agencies, the statement noted.
“As the federal government looks into transitioning to a more efficient model for delivering administrative services — both in the interest of federal employees and that of the American taxpayer — it is vital that all relevant stakeholders have a seat at the table,” said SEA President Bill Valdez.
The full implementation of the business model with private sector resources is projected to help the government achieve more than $50 billion in savings, SEA and SSLC added.
SEA is a nonprofit association that represents members of the federal government’s Senior Executive Service.
SSLC is nonprofit coalition of companies, organizations and individuals that supports and provides education on shared services implementation across government.
