Richard Ledgett

Richard Ledgett, former deputy director of the National Security Agency, has joined the board of advisers at Washington, D.C.-based defense technology company Polaris Alpha.

Polaris Alpha said Monday its advisory board members provide strategic guidance and advice to the firm’s executive leadership team on efforts to serve military and intelligence community clients.

Ledgett held the no. 2 position at NSA from 2014 until his retirement in April 2017 and received the National Security Medal from President Donald Trump on Jan. 4 in recognition of his nearly 30 years of service at the agency.

His NSA career also includes time as deputy director for analysis and production; deputy director for data acquisition and chief of the NSA/CSS Pacific; and instructor and course developer for a joint IC operational activity at the National Cryptologic School and the Joint Military Intelligence College.

He was the first cyber national intelligence manager at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and served as the principal adviser and IC coordinator on cyber matters.
