IBM Vet Lindsay-Rae McIntyre Named Microsoft Chief Diversity Officer

Lindsay-Rae McIntyre, a more than two-decade veteran of IBM, has joined Microsoft as chief diversity officer.

McIntyre will lead Microsoft’s cross-company efforts to promote cultural diversity in the workplace and establish partnerships with external organizations to help drive inclusion and diversity in the technology field, Microsoft said Sunday.

She will perform her new duties at Microsoft’s office in Redmond, Washington, and report to Chief People Officer Kathleen Hogan.

Prior to the appointment, McIntyre served as CDO and vice president of human resources at IBM, where she led the firm’s global diversity agenda as well as executive talent identification and search processes.

McIntyre holds a bachelor’s degree in English, speech and hearing sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. degree from Duke University.
